The Seattle Seahawks and defensive end Chris Clemons have reached an agreement on a multiyear deal, according to a source with direct knowledge of the talks.
The contract has not yet been signed and terms were not immediately available.
Clemons skipped the Seahawks mandatory minicamp last month, forfeiting $1 million in base-salary escalations. He also reportedly turned down a two-year, $14 million extension earlier this offseason.
The Seahawks had the opportunity to franchise tag Clemons in 2013 for a projected 10.835 million.
Clemons has started all 32 games for the Seahawks over the past two seasons, totaling 100 tackles and 24 sacks. The Seahawks used their 2012 first-round draft pick on West Virginia pass-rush specialist Bruce Irvin, who is expected to play opposite Clemons in 2012.
