Hines Ward Hosts Star-Studded Charity Weekend
ATLANTA, Ga. — Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward held his annual charity weekend Friday through Sunday in his hometown of Atlanta, Ga. The weekend was full of star-studded events and lavish parties all to support a cause close to Ward's heart.Proceeds from the fundraiser benefited the Hines Ward Helping Hands Foundation.

For $500, guests could purchase a ticket to a Friday night party at Ward's home. The party was actually moved to a local business, The Rug Gallery. Other events included The Hines Ward Celebrity Bowl and Party for a Purpose. Many of Ward's famous friends were on hand for the events, including Steelers James Harrison, James Farrior and former Steeler Jerome Bettis.
VJ Nelson Hicks of Channel 11's sister station, WSB-TV, captured all of the weekend fun.

Ward grew up in Forest Park, Ga. with his Korean mother. His father, who is black, was not in his life. He created the Hines Ward Helping Hands Foundation, in part, to promote equality for biracial Korean children and help them have a better quality of life. The foundation also provides educational programs for children.
