Hines Ward is willing to accept a pay cut to stay with the Steelers in 2012

Hines Ward, WR, Steelers

Hines Ward is willing to accept a pay cut to stay with the Steelers in 2012.  "I recognize that," said Ward of the restructuring. "I'm telling you I want to be here, I'm telling you I'm willing to do that. ... I want to try to win another Super Bowl. I want to do it for this organization." Although Ward needs minor ankle surgery to remove bone spurs, he intends to play in 2012 even if the Steelers don't want him back. Beat writer Ed Bouchette opined Tuesday that ownership would have to step in for Ward to return to the Steelers.

  1. Why would Hines have to accept a paycut to stay with the Steelers? If you ask me he deserves a raise for all that he does for the team. Be well Hines! You deserve the very best! You are awesome Hines! Thanks for everything you do and keep on smiling!

  2. Agreed. Sad that it may take that for him to stay with the Steelers.

  3. I agree with Anonymous 100%. As far as I can see the Steelers still need him, and he has so much still to offer, like teaching the younger players his tricks of the trade. Steelers should be playing today...August is SO far away....
