Geathers is a famous name in the NFL. It is even more famous in Georgetown and at Carvers Bay High. Robert Geathers, Jr., along with his brothers Clifton and Kwame, hosted more than 150 children for a one day football camp at Big Bear Stadium at Carvers Bay High School.

Robert Geathers, Jr. is entering his ninth season in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals. His younger brother Clifton is with the Dallas Cowboys. Still another brother, Kwame, is about to begin his junior season with the Georgia Bulldogs. They all have one thing in common. All play on the defensive line.

The camp taught football fundamentals. The kids were put through drills for about four hours. But most important to the Geathers family is that the campers left knowing that education and family come first.

Robert Geathers, Sr. was also in attendance. He is a former member of the Buffalo Bills. And the most famous Geathers of all, Jumpy Geathers, who played for two Super Bowl Champions for the Washington Redskins and Denver Broncos is a big supporter of the event.

Atlanta Falcons defensive end Cliff Matthews also helped out with the camp. The Cheraw native is a former South Carolina Gamecocks defensive end.
