Sean Jones Reportedly Visited Lions This Week

Chris Crocker wasn't the only free-agent safety who visited the Detroit Lions this week. According to Adam Caplan, the Lions also hosted free-agent safety Sean Jones for a visit.

Jones entered the NFL in 2004 but was sidelined his entire rookie season due to a knee injury. He went on to play four seasons with the Cleveland Browns before landing in Philadelphia with the Eagles in 2009. He then moved on to Tampa Bay, where he played with the Buccaneers the last two seasons.

Jones started all 16 games in each season, but he is still a free agent after having his contract expire.
Considering the Lions have now hosted Jones, Crocker and Oshiomogho Atogwe for visits this offseason, it's pretty clear that they want to add some depth at safety. It remains to be seen if one of these players will ultimately be signed by the Lions, but it's a pretty good bet that a safety will be signed at some point this offseason.
