NFL Player Charles Johnson Hosts Kids Camp

Over 400 kids between the ages of five and eighteen brushed up on their basketball and football skills at the first annual Charles Johnson Football Camp.

Johnson graduated from Hawkinsville High School in 2004 and was a standout for the Georgia Bulldogs.  He now playes defensive tackle for the Carolina Panthers.

Other pros showed up to help out, including fellow Dawgs DJ Shockley and Mohammed Massoquoi.
Friday, the campers were in the gym to work on basketball skills.  Saturday, things shifted outside for practice with football fundamentals.

Johnson hopes his camp will help keep kids active and out of trouble.
"We're just trying to motivate kids and give them that vision not to limit themselves to just one thing.

Try to do multiple things and play multiple sports and stay in sports and off the streets."
