Mohamed Massaquoi Injury: Browns WR Leaves Game With Head Injury

by Rodger Sherman
Mohamed Massaquoi has struggled for two years with concussion issues, and after suffering a head injury on the first play of his first preseason game in 2012, those issues might not be totally behind him.
Massaquoi caught a pass from Brandon Weeden for 12 yards on the Browns' first play from scrimmage and his night was over. He was ruled out for the rest of the game before the first quarter was over. Its unclear whether or not his injury will keep him out for some time, but the consistent threat of concussions for Massaquoi seems to be a problem. In the wake of what we're learning about concussions' effects on football players after their careers end, perhaps its best for Massaquoi to sit out for a little while, especially in the preseason.
The four-year veteran was fourth on the team in receptions and yards receiving last season with 31 catches for 384 yards -- both career lows.
